Im not so different.
A young girl, no more than seventeen sat staring out the window of the hotel's restraunt. She had long brown curly hair and dark hazel eyes. She was by herself. Infront of her was the a few slices of toast that were left untouched. She looked distant, as if she wasn't there. She was deep in thought it was obvious. Her left hand twizling a piece of her hair and the right was lightly placed on the table. Her name? Cassie Leighs.
Cassie sighed, she was in a state of daydreaming, her mother given up and returned to her spar day. Cassie was supposed to be doing the same but she wasn't in the mood. She didn't really know what was up with her, maybe she had finally gone crazy. Her mother forever nagging her or it could just be a phase. Slowly she came back and let the bit of hair drop back into its place. She looked down at the breakfast that had now probably gone cold, she pushed it away.
Soon after a waiter came a cleared it up, left on the table was a fresh cup of tea. Cassie took a small sip and put it down. She guessed she just wanted somebody to talk to, maybe somebody new? She pulled her cell phone out of her pocket, pushing the screen up to check for anything. Nothing. She sighed and pushed the screen back down and put it on the table. Nothing, absolutaly nothing. She sighed again, maybe it was just meant to be another ordinary mother nagging day.

Gabriel was sitting quietly at the bar. He was simply in a regular shirt that read HARVARD in big maroon bold letters across the chest. The shirt was otherwise was grey. His dark blue jeans just had a worn look and a few tears that accompanies jeans now adays. He ran a hand through his silver hair and sighed, looking at the dark red contents of a glass cup in his other hand. To put the day in better words....it had been boring.
He had to take refuge in the hotel, because of a team of slayers had been tracking him all night. He was glad the hotel had provided so little sun exposure. The only time he came in contact with his mortal enemy was this morning. He had hiss and growled at his maid that had open the blinds in the morning, burning his skin. A slight sunbrun was slightly visible on his skin from the incedent. Even his cheeks seemed to have a natural blush, making him appear more...human.
Despite his more human appearance, he was still a predator. He would forever remain a hunter. His grey gazed scanned that hotel's resturant for some new blood. He would need to feed to soon anyways. He yawned and took another sip of the questionable liquid in the cup. Unfortunately, it was just a bloody mary. They didn't serve vampires blood until late afternoon. It wasn't that great anyways, just some animal blood.
He noticed a girl to his right near the windows. He had some aviators on to help out his sensative eye site. She seemed as bored as he did. When a waitress passed by he stopped her and asked her took bring the girl some organge juice on him. He leaned back against the bar and took another sip of his drink. Not only was he looking for a meal, but he was also looking for others to join coven. She looked like a good prospect.

Yet again Cassie decided avoid the quality time with her so called mother. She dazed back out the window, day dreaming. She wasn't exactly thinking about anything in particular now, she just wanted something to pop out it surprise and so it did. The waitress brought orange juice over and placed it in front of her. Confused Cassie turned to her and said "I didn't order this, it's not mine." The waitress had replied that some man at the bar had got her it. The waitress just walked off before Cassie could even reply.
Cassie looked at the juice, she needed to gain up the courage to see who had given it her, it could have been some old psychotic man. After a few seconds that felt like minutes she decided she would glance over to see if she could guess who it was. There were only a few candidates at the bar. She didn't bother to look at the other tables.
The waitress that had served her the drink had happened to walk back past, Cassie called her back over. She asked the woman to point out who had served her the drink. Once the woman had gone of on her way Cassie looked directly at Gabriel. She had no idea who he was.. or what he was. She debated on going over but decided not to. Instead she gave him a thank you smile and gestured for him to come over and sit.
He did look rather odd, but hey it was somebody new. She didn't suspect anything out of the ordinary. She didn't care, though he was wearing aviators. She waited to see if her would come over, if he didn't then.. well she decided she would cross that bridge if it came to it.

He had relaxed against the bar, savoring the drink in his mouth with it's tomato flavor. He also felt the vodka tingling at the back of his throat. He was free to eat human food, but it was blood that would allow him to survive. He ave the waitress a five dollar bill when she passed and smile gave her a small smile,"Keep the change." he said to her smoothly and she smiled back.
Taking another sip of the blood mary he just waited as the waitress took the girl his small token. He waited for her reaction and noticed that it took for more than a moment for her too see who had been the person to send her the orange juice. She finally turned and he flashed her a small smile. He saw her gesture for him to come over and he paused for a moment before getting off the bar stool. Her table was close to the light, but on the opposite side he was free from the killer rays.
"Did I get it right? You a orange juice drinker?" he said with a small smile and amusment in his voice. He took a seat across from her. Behind his shades he was measuring her up. maybe she could prove to be more than a meal.

Cassie watched him come over, a sigh of relief slipped out her mouth, though she didn't know exactly why she was so relieved. Maybe because she seemed attracted to speak to him. Like he was a magnet and she was magnetic. He came over and sat opposite her, the sun completely missing him and hitting her instead.
And orange juice person? Maybe. Cassie laughed a little. "Maybe about four - five years ago i would have said definitely. But at this moment of my life, its occasional. she smiled. She thought it was a little odd with just asking her for that, but she was grateful for the little token. "Thanks anyway" she smiled.
She could tell he was checking her out, most lads did that with her. She too could also sense a little danger from him, but that could have just been the stupid little warnings that a five year old gets. To be precises 'don't talk to strangers' Cassie laughed at the childish thought. She was pretty much an adult now.

Gabriel had lived well over one-hundred years. He remained updated on what was socially acceptable in all countries. Buying drinks was just something that seemed to never go out of date. He hoped no matter how long he lived, it would remain that way. It made getting close to prey alot easier in certain settings.
"No problem." he said with a genuine smile. He knew that she could sense the predator in him. Despite natural instinct to avoid predators, vampires seemed to disengage the instinct. Instead of trying to get away, human were drawn in. He was lethal and dangerous, but humans saw it as dark and mysterious. It's not that he wasn't a nice guy. When he had been human, many people had been drawn to him naturally.
"New here?" he asked politely, settling into his chair, away from the sunlight that lit up her features.

It was common that buying drinks was a timeless thing. Even Cassie knew that. She could see he was attractive but she wouldn't flirt, not until she knew him better. She smiled back.
It was true, she was new around here, though she had visited with her mom when she was younger she didn't really walk around the city or anything, this was the new permanent status of the Leigh family. New house, new life, new start. Or so that was what Cassie had hoped for.
All her mother could think was shopping, spar and sun. And all Cassie could think was boring dull and lonely. Well not now that she had met somebody new. At least she wouldn't be that lonely anymore. "Yes.. I visited when i was little... but we have just permanently moved her" she nodded. "And you?" she questioned. She would wait before she asked why exactly he had bought her a drink.

Gabriel was very curious about this girl. You didn't just go out choosing those you are going to change randomly. They had to have certain qualities that made them different than others. When a vampire made another, that vampire was forever linked to the one they have created. It's like a family, but slightly different. You are able to sense when they are in danger and you are in charge of their development. His creator had been evil and twisted. It was the reason he had killed his own sister. Gabriel was obviously nothing like his creator. He had even broken all his bonds with her. he had killed her himself.
He leaned forward in his chair, obviously interesting in what she had to say,"Been here for a couple of months now. This city has turned out to be better than what I thought." he admitted. Behind his words was obviously another meaning. In this city the hunting was good. He preferred to stay away from places that hunted his kind. It's not that he didn't face a few slayers here and there. There were just less in this city.
"I forgot to introduce myself. Name is Gabriel." he said with a small smile .

Cassie could tell he was interested in her, especially when he leaned in. He was pretty new to the place himself, though he had been here longer. There was still something Cassie couldn't pick out, he was different from the others. She felt intrigued and drawn in. It confused her, but she tried not to show it.
At least he liked the city, that must have been a good sign. Maybe she would like it here after all. She had been dreading the move, she was leaving everybody her friends, most her family to come to this place just to have to refresh her whole life again.
Gabriel? She had never met someone with a very unique name. It made her curiosity more than what it should have been. "I'm Cassie" she smiled. "May i ask, not being rude or anything, why did you buy me a drink" she smiled. She showed her curiosity. At least her questions would be answered... or so she hoped. [/size]

In this city, the elders were trying to recreate a perfect world where each species can live in peace. He understood what they were trying to do and he supported them, but he knew that it was a impossible dream. It was simply the way things were. Vampire and werewolves were born to hate one another and humans have always been the main food source. Without the humans to feed on, then vampires would die. Nobody wants to die. Vampires in this city simply tried to work with what the city was trying to create. Gabriel wasn't a killer, but he knew vampires that were. It would be a hard change for some.
He listened carefully to Cassie and understood her curiosity,"A bit of a ice breaker don't you think?" he said with a corner on his mouth slightly upturned. He waved at the waitress to bring him another bloody mary.

Cassie sighed, he hadn't bothered to answer it. "Thats not answering my question" she smirked. He should know she was determind, she wouldn't stop till she got one. She could care less if it was a lie, she just didnt like her mind to wander over endless thoughts she prefered to be at rest with them.
"Or are you the type to answer a question with a question" she rolled her eyes, she had met somebody like that before and it had extremly bored her. She quickly glanced down to check her cell phone but looked back up hopefully waiting for an answer. She wondered how patient she could be.

He was watching her intently as he sat in his chair. His drink arrived and he took a sip. The drink wasn't like what he made when he had the time. He had far more experience than any human bartender, giving him the upper hand in making drinks. Vampires got bored with their immortality. Eventually, you just simply wanted to try just about everything just for the sake of not getting bored to death.
Gabriel notice her quickness. That was admirable quality,"Your sharp." he said flashing a smile,"Well I obviously wanted to meet you. " he said simply,"Does that answer your question?" he said with a raised eye brow, lowering his head to a point where you could clearly see his grey eyes over the aviators. He pushed the aviators back into place with his free hand and readjusted himself in his chair.

Well, at least she got an answer. But it was such an obvious one, she hoped for something more.. unique and original. She guessed she couldn't have everything she wanted and dreamed, though she knew that long ago. "I know" she replied about being sharp. Some people found it annoying, yet Cassie made it useful in her everyday life.
"That was the obvious answer, i hoped for.. more i guess. But it will do for an answer if you wish." Cassie sighed. She noticed his grey eyes, that dazzled her slightly. But she shrugged it off. Why was she so..drawn in to such a man. He seemed pretty normal apart from the aviators. But she guessed it was some sort of fashion statement.

"Maybe my words will have more meaning another time." he said with the corner of his mouth up turned slightly. His pocket buzzed and he reached in to read a text. His eyes scanned it quickly before he typed something quickly and pressed the send button. He sighed and gulped down the rest of the contents of the glass cup on the table.
He stood up,mindful of stray beams of sunlight," It was nice to meet you. Maybe I'll see you around Cassie." he said polietly excusing himself. Somehow he knew that he would meet this girl again. He didn't know how,but he be keeping a eye on her. Life always worked in unexpected ways.

Cassie watched as he replied to whatever text he had recieved. At first she had thought it were her cell phone, but when she had picked it up it appeared not to be. By the experessionless face he had she presumed he had to leave, and her prediction was right. She had delayed mother's bonding time long enough. She too stood up from her seat.
"It was nice to meet you too.. Yeah i hope we meet again sometime.." she smiled politely as she picked up her phone and prepared to leave, she decided she wasn't going to spend time with her mum, she was going to wander the town instead.
